Northern sites.
Actun Tunichil Muknal is a cave notable as a Maya archaeological site that includes skeletons, ceramics, and stoneware, a Northern Mayan Site.
Xunantunich is a Maya archaelogical site in Northern Belize. Xunantunich name means "Stone Woman" in the Maya language (Mopan and Yucatec combination name), and, like many names given to Maya archaeological sites, is a modern name. Most of the structures date from the Maya Classic Era. The core of Xunantunich occupies about one square mile (2.6 km²), consisting of a series of six plazas surrounded by more than 26 temples and palaces. One of its structures, the pyramid known as "El Castillo", the second tallest structure in Belize.
Tikal according to the modern Mayan orthography is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centres of the pre-columbian Maya civilization. It is located in the archaeological region of the Peten Basin in what is now northern Guatemala. Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BC, the site was still active suring the classical era.
Blue Hole National Park It is over 500 acres (2 km²) in area, and contains St. Hermans cave system, various natural trails, and the cool jungle pool from which the park gets its name. St. Hermans cave tour is a walking tour, your guide will provide you headlight/flashlights to view the spelotems and crystalline formations. While sharing their knowledge of the cave with you. This cave holds important cultural and archaeological significance, offering a glimpse into the Maya Classic Period. Southern Sites
Lubaantun is a pre-Columbian ruined city of the Maya civilization in southern Belize. Over time, the ground on which Lubantuun was built began to subsist and the mortarless blocks began to tumble. Thereafter, the site was given the name-Lubantuun- meaning "place of the fallen rocks" in the modern Maya language. Eleven large structures tower above five main plazas and three ball courts. Nim Li Punit, is a Maya Classic Period site. Nim Li Punit is sometimes known as Big Hat or Top Hat; the name is Kekchi Maya language for "Big Hat", referring to the large elaborate head-dress on a stela sculpture found on site depicting one of the site's ancient kings. This site has a small museum with restored stela sculptures and It is thought that within the Plaza of the Stela in the South Group that there is an E Group geometry that would have been used for astronomical observations. This site also boasts a ball court that is in such good condition it looks ready for game to begin.
Spice Farm or Chocolate Factory - Ixcacao Chocolate, located in Toledo a short drive from Nim Li Punit. This tour you will learn about this Mayan owned Cacao farm learn about how cacao is grown and the owners Juan and Abelina guide us through the process of making our own chocolate from bean to bar using traditional stone tools. Alternative your Nim li Punit Mayan Site tour can be combined with a visit to The Spice Farm, see spices such as cardamom, vanilla, allspice, nutmeg and black pepper plants. The tour includes learning about their origins, uses and how they are cultivated and processed. This tour can be done either walking or by wagon.
